The City together with its waste hauler CR&R will be launching a new residential Organics Recycling Program in 2022. In 2022, Laguna Hills residents will be able to add food scraps to their existing green yard waste containers for recycling. Food and yard scraps collected will then be taken to CR&R facilities to be processed and composted.
The City hosted its first community town hall meeting regarding the new organics recycling regulations (SB 1383) on Wednesday, July 28th. Additional educational opportunities and materials on the new food waste recycling program will be available soon from the City and CR&R.
The City of Laguna Hills offers its residents with a HHW Doorstep pickup program as described above under Residential Recycling Programs. In addition to this service, OC Waste and Recycling provides the following four collection centers for Orange County residents to dispose of HHW materials free of charge.
